The 1956 Floods in Morgan

The 1956 flood of the Murray River was the most severe natural event recorded in the State’s history, and as we can see, the Morgan Railway Station did not escape its devastation.

The Morgan Railway platform and wharf were covered with water, so a temporary platform was erected on the outskirts of Morgan, at Lanosa Siding

A rather unusual and amusing scene at the Station. An attendant in a row boat changing the points!!
